UTG-4C Four channel tonnage monitor

UTG-4C tonnage monitor is a four-channel economical and practical press tonnage monitoring system. Through simple operation, it can provide the press with overload protection (capacity alarm), mold protection and improve the quality of parts forming (peak deviation alarm).

UTG-4C allows 4 pressure transmitter inputs and is mainly used in closed presses. The sensors are installed on four columns. The capacity alarm always exists to provide overload protection for the press after it is turned on. The peak deviation alarm only starts monitoring after entering the monitoring mode after a stroke. The red digital tube on the front panel displays the latest peak tonnage and total tonnage of each channel, and the green digital tube displays Set the peak deviation alarm limit, and you can view the current upper limit, reference, lower limit, etc. set by the switch button. There is a column indicator next to the peak value display of each channel to directly indicate the deviation of the current load peak value from the sampling reference value, which is convenient for the operator to observe the load repeatability of the part during molding. In the monitoring mode, once any channel exceeds the upper and lower limits of capacity or peak deviation, the system immediately starts the shutdown circuit breaker.
The main functions are as follows:

1. Overload protection is capacity alarm function;
2. Three peak deviation alarm functions;
3. Low alarm limit function;

1. The capacity alarm is a high alarm that can be set. Generally, it is set to the maximum nominal force of the press. The capacity alarm provides overload protection for all channels of the press and is finally effective. The capacity alarm value on the four sides of the front left, rear, left, right, front and right of the press is 1/4 of the maximum nominal force set by the press. It is automatically calculated by the system and needs no additional settings. A capacity alarm in any channel will immediately activate the shutdown relay.

2. The peak deviation alarm is a settable upper and lower limit alarm, which provides mold protection for all channels and improves the forming quality of parts. There are three different modes: self-sampling peak deviation alarm mode, adaptive peak deviation alarm mode and self-set peak deviation alarm mode. The operator can choose according to actual needs. Only one of the three peak deviation alarms can be selected. The difference between the three modes is the calculation of the reference value. The self-sampling and adaptive peak deviation alarm mode is based on the average value of the qualified parts pressure value at the beginning of the sampling as the reference value; the self-set peak deviation alarm mode is based on the operator’s experience or theory A self-set target value is used as the reference value; the upper and lower limit alarm values are automatically calculated by the system according to the set peak allowable deviation percentage. If the pressure value of any channel exceeds the limit, a peak deviation alarm will occur and the shutdown relay will be activated immediately.

2.1.Self-sampling peak deviation alarm mode: Self-sampling peak deviation alarm is the simplest and most basic one of the alarm modes. After entering the monitoring mode, the system starts as the average value of the tonnage peak collected according to the preset number of stroke samples (0-99) As the reference value of qualified parts, the system automatically calculates the upper and lower limit alarm points according to the set alarm deviation percentage, and the peak deviation alarm caused by the pressure value of any channel exceeds the limit will activate the shutdown relay. The reference value remains unchanged until the instrument is reset or shut down and restarted. The self-sampling peak deviation alarm mode can detect some instantaneous faults, such as punch damage and die fragments, as well as some minor changes, such as changes in material thickness and hardness. Because the sampling reference value is a fixed peak alarm limit value, it should be set slightly looser to prevent unnecessary alarms.

2.2.Adaptive peak deviation alarm mode: The adaptive peak deviation alarm is similar to the self-sampled peak deviation alarm. The only difference is that the sampled reference value is not fixed. The system collects according to the preset number of stroke samples (0-99), and continuously calculates new ones. The peak average value of tonnage is used as the reference value of qualified parts. The adaptive peak deviation alarm mode allows the alarm setting to be closer to the reference value, improve sensitivity, and detect small changes, such as smaller punch damage and smaller mold fragments.

2.3. Self-set peak deviation alarm mode: In the self-set peak deviation alarm mode, the target value of each channel set by the operator based on experience or theory is used as the reference value, and then the system will automatically set the peak allowable deviation percentage according to the setting. Count the upper and lower limit alarm value.
